Working Together to Safeguard Children

Our school is committed to safeguarding children and promoting children's welfare and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment. Everyone has a responsibility to act without delay to protect children by reporting anything that might suggest a child is being abused, or neglected, or is at risk.

All those who come into contact with children in our school, whether paid, voluntary or whilst working on site, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of our children. We have expectations of behaviour and responsibilities of all adults whilst at St Joseph's.

All staff and visitors to school must sign in at the front desk. All staff and visitors must wear identification at all times. All staff (including agency, sports coaches, music etc) and volunteers must have a valid DBS background check. Evidence of these checks are kept on our Single Central Register.
