Admissions
If you are thinking about joining us, visits to our school are encouraged so that you can get a feel for the school and our community. Please contact the school to make a convenient time to come and visit and have a look around. Please contact Miss Angela Finnegan in the school office to arrange your visit.
All admissions to school will be decided by the Governing Body in accordance with our Admission Policy.

Admissions to F2 are dealt with centrally by the Local Authority. Children are admitted into Reception (F2) in September of the year in which they have their 5th birthday. To complete an Admissions application, follow this link to the Wirral LA Admissions website
Nursery (F1)
Our Nursery is operated and managed by Em’s Stars. Please click here to view the Em’s Stars website for more information. You can also contact Em’s Stars direct at stjosephspreschool@emsstars.co.uk
In-Year Admissions
For In-year Admissions a transfer request form (available at the school office or from Wirral Admissions) needs to be completed and submitted to Wirral LA.
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it via Wirral LA.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied. This can be viewed here. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact the School Office. You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority.
